Name: AnnaMarie Fox
1. Geornee': Who is Annamarie Fox? And why should people support your music?
AnnMarie Fox: Hello! I am a singer, songwriter, dancer, self-proclaimed nerd and entertainer. I make what I like to call Feel Good music, and infuse sounds that have inspired me and that are apart of me. That ranges from Soca, Reggae, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Classical. I hope that individuals of all ages can relate to my music and be uplifted and inspired as well.
2. Geornee': What were you like growing up? And Who inspire you to be a singer?
AnnMarie Fox: I was a very quiet child growing up. A little awkward, and very imaginative. I indulged in comic books and loved watching music videos, award shows, dancing and singing around my home with my family, and pretending I was Michael Jackson. Michael was and is my biggest inspiration. When he sang the words "Annie, are you okay?" , I thought he was singing to me haha. I have other inspirations as well. Mariah Carey, Aaliyah, Anita Baker, Toni Braxton, El DeBarge, and Usher - just to name a few.
3. Geornee': What are your five must have items you need before performing? And what's your song playlist to get hype to?
AnnMarie Fox: I must have a bottle of honey. Just a regular, plastic container of honey that I squeeze in to a spoon, cup...or take straight to the head. I always love for my chords to be coated and ready for singing. Before I perform, I love to get hyped to some good Hip-Hop. Anything produced by Timbaland is great, I love his intricate way of putting sounds together. I like to dance to different parts of the beat.
4. Geornee': Tell me about your new single Boom? And where did the inspiration come from?
AnnMarie Fox: My single, Boom will be released this August 2016. I've been performing it at local fashion shows and local tv. So far, it's received fun responses. One person called it "Coming to America". It has an Afro-Rhythm style beat to it, and it's about having fun and "winin'" like an island "gyal" until the sun comes up while the DJ goes "Boom Boom". I was definitely inspired by Soca and African artists and their videos. They're so fun and carefree and they make you want to dance.
5.Geornee': What are your other talents? And what / or who made you into this fierce Woman?
AnnMarie Fox: Aside from singing and dancing, I can draw art pretty well. I'm also an avid comic book reader and part-time cosplayer. I basically like to pop up at dressed up costume. My real life influences like my mother and other women in my life made me a fierce woman. They didn't sell themselves short or settle for less. Things that they say often resonate with me like failure not being an option or to not back down just because I'm a woman. My father also told me that I can do anything and has always been my cheerleader and my support.
6. Geornee': How did you know your husband was the right man for you? And what dating advice do you have for anyone trying to find love not lust?
AnnMarie Fox: I knew that my husband was the right one for me when he displayed selfless acts. He is very considerate, strong, and loving. People always show you who they are before you commit further. I'd recommend that people pay attention to how much someone is willing to give of themselves and how they treat other people in their lives. Pay attention.
7. Geornee': If you could start a non profit business one day what would it be? And how can others benefit from this?
AnnMarie Fox: I'd love to start a non-profit organization to assist women in the entertainment industry. I want to raise money and provide grants to those ladies that are pursuing degrees, certifications, and training and the entertainment industry. We're still very much underrepresented, and providing more opportunities and platforms for women to have that exposure would be amazing.
AnnMarie Fox: I want to Ms. Geornee for the opportunity to interview with you! You're an amazing woman and keep up the great work! You can connect with me online at www.redfoxsings.com and follow me on twitter & instagram @redfoxsings. You can also find me on Facebook.com/RedFoxSings.
